A new company that will specialise in providing expert reports and end-user IT audits for law firms and insurance companies recently opened in Sydney.
Called Forensic Data Services, the company will provide reports for use in settlement procedures or in court relating to end-user data security systems, e-mail management and control, anti-virus protection, data recoveries, millenium bug exposure and Internet security.
According to managing director Nick Adamo, the provision of audit certificates of IT back-up systems and procedures should help companies to negotiate lower insurance premiums for data loss and associated loss of profits.
In addition, the company's technicians can assist in the recovery of lost data from hard disk and tape systems.
To service the needs of the legal profession, Mr Adamo said the service will operate seven-days per week.
