Tandberg Data has added WORM (Write Once Read Many) functionality to its RDX media as a new technology designed to replace magneto-optical drives, CDs and DVDs. 

Combined with RDX WORM media, RDX removable disk systems, including RDX QuikStor and RDX QuikStation, suit a number of archiving applications.  

Files stored on RDX WORM media cannot be modified or deleted and can be accessed and read without limitation. Data can be added to RDX WORM and existing files cannot be overwritten.

Compared to currently available optical media like CDs, DVDs or BluRay, RDX removable disk technology provides significantly greater storage capacity. Tandberg Data offers RDX media with integrated WORM functionality in capacities of 320GB, 500GB and 1TB. All generations of RDX media and drives are compatible with each other.
