CSIIRO Makes CeBIT Pledge

April 26, 2007: The CSIRO has pledged their commitment to working with commercial partners by announcing their stand at next week’s Sydney CeBIT event, will feature a ‘wall of opportunities.’

The Director of Commercialisation for the CSIRO ICT Centre Dr Gautam Tendulkar, has released the statement today in a bid to show how commercial partners can work with the research body.

“It may be the chance to license some CSIRO Intellectual Property, or to participate in a commercialisation venture for CSIRM technology, or even to participate in a collaborative research project,” said Tendulkar.

The CSIRO are boosting opportunities across the ICT Centre’s four research laboratories to be on offer at next week’s CeBIT exhibition. The opportunities include anything from mining robotics projects, autonomous aircraft, eService delivery and secure transactions to Virtual Private Extranet Service and the Trust Extension Device.

The biggest opportunity might well be found in CSIRO’s wireless technologies. The CSIRO’s 10 GB per second wireless communications is on offer, as well as technologies for localisation and mine communication.

By way of ‘information engineering’ the CSIRO says they’ll be inviting partners for their online expert question answerer, My Instant Expert.

“From the eHealth Research Centre, we’ll have medical imaging technologies and more, and from the new Tasmanian ICT Centre a general call for SME and other partners to get involved in our emerging research agenda in Tasmania,” says Tendulkar.

CSIRO’s stand is K30 in future parc.
