April 9, 2009:Xerox is launching an A3 flatbed scanner with a built-in USB hub. The DocuMate 700 to be connected directly to a PC and used as a stand-alone flatbed scanner or it can be connected through its USB port to an existingADF (automatic document fed) scanner for added functionality.

The A3s flatbed enables scanning of a wide variety of documents, such as books, magazines, plastic cards and fragile paper. With Visioneer OneTouch technology, users can scan to the "destination" of their choice by pressing a single button, eliminating multiple steps usually required to save scanned documents in popular file formats.

The DocuMate 700 can scan documents to nine preset, yet completely configurable, destinations. The scanner includes Kofax VRS, Nuance PaperPort and OmniPage Pro OCR for converting high volumes of paper and forms into files that can be searched and edited.

The Xerox DocuMate 700 scanner has the ability to instantly scan a document into a searchable PDF file, and send it to one of the many ECM applications thatVisioneer has developed links to such as Xerox DocuShare, ScanFlow Store, Docuware, Microsoft SharePoint, Kofax Ascent Collection Server, EMC Captiva QuickScan Pro, FileBound, Laserfiche and/or to devices such as printers and networked storage systems in just one touch.

It is priced at at $US995.
