Contex moves up to 64-bit XP/Vista

April 21, 2009:Wide format scanning specialist Contex has announced a new release of Nextimage software that includes support for 64-bit Windows installations.

This means that all current Contex and Vidar (a brand of Contex) software and device drivers for current scanners are compatible and tested to operate correctly in Microsoft Windows XP 64-bit and Windows Vista 64-bit.

This support enables Contex customers to migrate to newer 64-bit versions of Windows so they can take advantage of the 64-bit capable processors (Intel Core 2 Duo and later) on newer PCs.

In addition to 64-bit compatibility, Nextimage 1.5.3 also adds:

• New printer support: Canon iPF6000S

• Batch scanning in Nextimage TWAIN

• Other performance enhancements and fixes

The new 64-bit compatible version of Nextimage software is compatible with the current Contex and Vidar SD and HD series scanners, including the FLEX50i, as well as the previous G-series models. Existing Nextimage licenses will work when they install the new Nextimage.
