Konica Minolta adds new MFDs

Konica Minolta Australia has launched a number of new monochrome devices to extend its MFD line offering high speed scanning capability.

Marc Brandon, Product Manager at Konica Minolta Australia, said “Business will particularly benefit from improved software integration that allows devices to leverage a range of software systems and applications for increased information management.”

New features include single pass high speed duplex scanning for intensive workflow environments, plus improved software integration and strong environmental credentials.   They will also provide wireless offices with the ability to print, scan and store documents remotely without being physically wired to the device.

Using Konica Minolta’s PageScope Mobile application, available through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, users can enjoy driverless printing and scanning capability directly from their smart devices.  The bizhub 654e and 754e now supports direct document scanning into the latest Microsoft Office formats (.docx, .pptx and .xlxs) which are fully searchable, allowing users to find scanned files via a simple keyword search.

The device comes with Open Platform technology that allows seamless integration with a range of sophisticated software programs including Konica Minolta PageScope Enterprise Suite, eCopy, NUANCE scanning solutions, and YSoft solutions - all tailored to your business needs.

Watertight security will also be a major consideration this year with new Australian privacy laws coming into effect in March 2014, however, businesses can address these concerns with the bizhub HDD (hard disk drive) that protects unauthorised access with a suite of security functions that can be configured by the user.  These include automatic job overwrite, HDD encryption, HDD lock password, automatic deletion of jobs stored in the User Box on the HDD and HDD overwrite.

Konica Minolta also offers authenticated release or ‘pull printing’ solutions where authorised users can collect printed documents from any device on the network with a PIN, swipe of a security card, or even a biometric finger scan.
