Eastman Software has released its Imaging and Workflow Feature Pack 2, a client release that allows the user to capture and store paper-based information as electronic images, and electronically monitor and control the flow of work throughout the organisation.
The release features Microsoft's Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) 6.0 for client-side customisation of WorkDesk, the core part of Feature Pack 2. This 32-bit application can be used as an imaging and workflow client workstation.
The Visual Basic-like environment allows users to customise and configure WorkDesk to meet different imaging and workflow implementations.
The product also includes ActiveX scripting functionality, which permits users to create custom workstations, peripheral servers and process robots in a Rapid Application Development (RAD) environment.
The combination of the VBA and ActiveX components is designed to provide a set of flexible interfaces for extending the features of the pack. This flexible interface includes customisable toolbars and window panes with splitters and context menus, and better image format and annotation support.
Feature pack 2 is available now, and integrates into Windows NT, 95, 98 and 2000.
