TFT range widens

IBM has released its latest Thin Film Transistor (TFT) flat panel display, an 18 inch monitor suited to high-end imaging applications.

The T85A Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) has a 160 degree horizontal and vertical viewing angle, and allows the user to control image position, colour point, brightness and contrast through the microprocessor-based On Screen Display (OSD).

The monitor consumes about one third of the power of commercial desktops, and as is the case with LCDs, has a narrow footprint so that it can occupy small spaces on the desktop.

The T85A retails for $7763.
