QNAP Supports Seagate

January 5, 2009: QNAP has announced that its Turbo NAS series is now compatible with Seagate’s 1.5TB hard disks, giving the storage devices higher total capacities than ever before.

The company says that Seagate’s Barracuda 7200.11 1.5TB hard drive is now supported by the entire TS-109/ 209/ 409/ 509 Turbo NAS series, and according to QNAP Product Manager Laurent Cheng, the good news is that "Turbo NAS users now have more choices when selecting […] hard drive models and more storage space."

"For example, the TS-509 Pro supports up to 7.5TB storage capacity," said Laurent.

QNAP says that the TS-409 and TS-509 series also supports Online RAID Capacity Expansion, which enables system administrators to increase storage capacity by replacing hard drives with the data reserved and the server on.
