Document viewer for Salesforce
Accusoft has released Document Viewer for Salesforce, a new app that integrates seamlessly into a Salesforce.com page to enable users to view attachments in any of more than 300 different file types, including all Microsoft Office documents, PDFs, raster/vector image files, CAD/CAM drawings, and hundreds more.
Easily installed from the Salesforce AppExchange, Document Viewer for Salesforce replaces the standard "Attachments" related list in any standard or custom page in Visualforce--Accounts, Opportunities, Cases, Contacts, Events, and more.
When a user selects any supported document from the list, it opens in a fast, friendly viewer window with convenient navigation tools. The viewer can be configured to display documents in a new window, or in a hovering "lightbox" window on the same page as the Salesforce.com UI.
With Document Viewer for Salesforce, users can view documents for which they do not have the native program installed, and companies can attach a far wider range of document file types to a Salesforce page while ensuring that every user can view any document. No installations or special software are required for users--all they need is a Flash-enabled browser.
Although the user can view the document, the thin-client Document Viewer for Salesforce does not actually download the document file to the user's computer, ensuring quick display while helping to curb the spread of malicious software. A Download button enables users to download documents when necessary.
