VERS tick for OpenText RM on SharePoint 2010

OpenText has achieved certification for its records management solution with Microsoft SharePoint 2010 with VERS (Victorian Electronic Records Strategy), the Australian standard for capturing, managing and preserving electronic records.

VERS consists of a framework of standards centred around the goal of reliably and authentically archiving electronic records. In order to be certified, products must undergo rigorous, independent testing by the VERS organisation and demonstrate that all requirements of the standard are fully met.

Introduced last year, OpenText Application Governance & Archiving for Microsoft SharePoint 2010 provides integrated end-to-end management of SharePoint 2010 sites and documents across an entire enterprise.

“For customers in highly regulated industries and government agencies, compliance with major standards for records management and archiving is critical to their ability to deploy SharePoint 2010 strategically across the enterprise,” said Gianpaolo Carraro, Director, Microsoft Australia.

“By taking on the effort to achieve VERS certification, OpenText demonstrates the value of a strong ecosystem in helping customers get maximum benefit from their investment in the Microsoft platform.”
