Canadian Government Deploys TRIM

June 1, 2007: Enterprise content management provider Tower Software has been awarded a major government contract in Canada that will see it deploy its TRIM Context ECM system deployed across all departments in the Government of British Columbia.

11,000 licences have been acquired by the government so far, with the first being deployed in the Ministry of Forests and Range and the Ministry of Transportation in 2003.

To kick off the conversion to TRIM the Ministry first converted all physical records from a legacy system and made an inventory of all backlog records. It then implemented TRIM’s email management function, and is now finally beginning to manage electronic documents using the system.

Tower says that EDRM is now a key component of the Ministry's knowledge management initiative, and will soon be the bedrock of its daily operations. It claims that TRIM will improve information management and sharing, helping the provincial government deliver services to its citizens.

“TOWER Software is proud to support the Government of British Columbia's knowledge management initiative,” said Martin Harwood, CEO of TOWER Software. “Managing your government information is a crucial component in today's public sector environment to reduce risk while increasing information security, integrity and accountability.”
