FileWorks Offers SMBs Online Document Management

April 11, 2007: FileWorks has announced the release of a new online document management system that it says offers secure, Web-based data storage and online document management for less than the cost of a cup of coffee a day.

Aimed at SMBs, the system includes integrated scanning software and electronic signatures for US$29.99 a month. While it was developed for SMBs, FileWorks claims that the system has an enterprise level robustness and provides secure, controlled and auditable access to documents from any location. All data is encrypted and secure access handled by a password and VeriSign SSL certificate combination.

The company says that FileWorks Online will prove invaluable for law practices, realtors, property managers, accountants, consultants and more. It says the solution is also suitable for businesses with multiple offices or mobile workers due to easy access to the repository from any internet terminal, and the fact folders can be specifically set for collaborative purposes.

The integrated scanning software converts paper documents to secure digital archive files, while faxing tools enable documents to be received directly into FileWorks Online as PDF documents. A Microsoft Outlook plug-in is also available to enable messages and attachments to be directly filed into the online system.

FileWorks Online starts at US$29.99 per month for 500MB of storage space, unlimited electronic signatures, unlimited Guest users, and instant notifications. Additional users attract a further US$14.99 per month.
