Interwoven Streamlines Collaborative Document Management

March 22, 2007: Interwoven’s latest version of Collaborative Document Management is out, promising increased business agility through the optimisation of document-intensive business processes.

Interwoven says that the new version helps streamline workflow by not only making team-based collaboration easier, but also by offering a vastly improved search capabilities with its new Ajax-based WorkSite MP 5.0.

Next to improved search Interwoven says WorkSite 5.0 includes new features such as a Media Add-on for seamless handling of images, multimedia and documents, improved Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook integration including a drop interface for email management in Notes and Microsoft Office 2007 and Vista support.

“As business cycles have become radically compressed, and customer demands and preferences shift faster than ever before, business agility and speed to market will make the difference between success and failure,” says Rafiq Mohammadi, chief technology officer at Interwoven. “Interwoven Collaborative Document Management gets to the heart of this matter, by giving businesses a powerful engine for using content to integrate people and processes more efficiently.”

The new version also includes the interesting MetaTagger, a content intelligence application that automatically categorises content and extracts information based on business requirements, organisational standards, taxonomies and collective knowledge. Interwoven claims this system helps minimise the need for tedious and inconsistent manual tagging.

The company says that Collaborative Document Management and WorkSite MP 5.0 server and Web versions will be generally available by March 30, 2007, while Support for Microsoft Office 2007 and Vista will be available by June 30, 2007.
