AXS-One and IBM Team Up For Compliance

January 25th, 2007: AXS-One has announced that it has teamed up with IBM to deliver a new integrated compliance management solution and archiving platform on top of IBM’s System Storage DR550.

AXS-One bills its compliance platform as a single, scalable archiving and electronic records management solution for policy-based management of disparate electronic records and claims that it will fully support IBM’s System Storage DR550 and DR550 Express.

With worldwide compliance laws becoming tighter and the volumes of corporate records increasing exponentially, AXS-One and IBM claim that their combined solution enables corporate users to implement a multi-dimensional strategy for archival, storage and retrieval across all electronic record types, including those in the Lotus Notes/Domino arena.

“Combining the AXS-One Compliance Platform with the IBM DR550 gives us a unique opportunity to build on our momentum in the Records Compliance Management market and offer companies an unprecedented level of innovation and efficiency in archival and retrieval functionality,” says David Thompson, managing director of AXS-One Pty Ltd. ”This combination enables enterprises to scale and manage global installations with a high level of flexibility, while maintaining strict controls on price performance.”

To support its case, the company cites research that shows organisations will archive over 7,000 petabytes of email in the next four years. A dizzying amount when the fact that compliance and records retention purposes are taken into account.

AXS-One and IBM believe that because of this, their combined solution will be an invaluable asset for archiving and records management.

“The archiving market is increasingly important to our customers as they address the challenges of cost-effective, long-term retention of information,” says Cindy Grossman, IBM Vice President of System Storage. "With AXS-One, we can deliver leading archiving technology and solutions for email including Lotus Notes, instant messages, text messages and other record types that meet customer requirements today and are flexible for the requirements of the future.”
