Symantec Unveils Compliance Suite

June 17, 2008: Symantec has updated its compliance process automation solution, Control Compliance Suite, to version 9.0, enabling it to support IT Governance, Risk, and Compliance (IT GRC) initiatives within global organisations.

The company claims that IT management is increasingly being called on to align with business objectives, even while their budgets shrink. It says that compliance process automation is key to meeting directives passed down from business for IT to achieve internal and external mandates while balancing risk.

“More than half of my team’s time is spent capturing information to demonstrate regulatory compliance,” said GV Gopalakrishnan, executive vice president of information technology at HDFC Bank.

“Symantec’s risk-based approach to policy compliance automation gives us a full solution that automates key processes and reports the most critical assets at risk for prompt remediation.”

Symantec says that the suite provides the ability to automate key IT compliance processes, reducing risk as well as the cost of managing compliance.
