Iron Mountain Expands APAC Operations

December 15th, 2006: Data storage heavyweight Iron Mountain is increasing its push into Asia Pacific after the signing a definitive agreement with Transnational Company this week.

December 2005 marked Iron Mountain’s first foray into the region with its acquisition of the Australian and New Zealand operations of Pickfords Records Management. After this it formed a joint venture with Mody Access in India during May this year, and soon after further expanded its Australia and New Zealand operation through the purchases of Melbourne’s DigiGuard.

Iron Mountain will have a controlling interest in this new joint venture, and will re-brand all of Transactional Company’s services with its own.

"By broadening Iron Mountain's global presence, we can better support our largest customers wherever they do business," said Bob Miller, group president, Asia Pacific for Iron Mountain. "We've had a growing demand from our customers for products and services in Asia Pacific and we are pleased to partner with Transnational Company to expand our business in this very important region."

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
