SNIA get new co-chair to Security Group

The Storage Networking Industry Association Networking Industry Association has announced that Arthur B Edmonds Jr. is to be the Co-Chair of its Security Group.

Mr Edmonds is the senior director of the Data Networking Technologies division of Hitachi Data Systems (HDS). The role of Co-Chair is in addition to his role on the Board of Directors of the Fibre Channel Industry Association (FCIA).

The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) Security Technical Working Group (TWG) provides architectures and frameworks to establish information security within the storage networking industry. Its mission is to define the methods for increasing information security when it is stored or in transit on heterogeneous storage networks. It also provides information on the management of networks and to help vendors and customers improve the security of information, it said in a statement.

Mr Edmonds has been in the networking industry for 21 years. At HDS he is responsible for Fibre Channel technology, the Internet and storage management. He said of his election to the Co-Chari; "I am honoured to be elected to this position and welcome this new responsibility and opportunity."
