Iomega, famous for its Zip removable storage technology, has entered the mini USB storage sector with a new device that provides 256 megabytes of capacity.

The Iomega 256MB Mini USB Drive uses their Active Disk application so that end users can run entire applications from the Mini. Iomega has also installed a new Mini Control Panel application that allows users to manage the data and security installed on the Mini, passwords can be locked from this application to ensure data integrity. The Active Disk application requires a driver installation on the host PC.

The Mini is compatible with a host of Windows versions, including 98, ME, XP and Apple Mac 8.6; it is also compatible with all three of the USB versions, 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0.
