StoredIQ Supports Documentum

August 7, 2008: Enterprise information management provider StoredIQ has announced support for EMC’s eDiscovery platform, Documentum, enabling unstructured information to be located and inserted into archives as records.

StoredIQ’s appliance enables companies to take unstructured data and place it under litigation hold in documentum’s Retention Policy Services, providing what StoredIQ says is the industry's most comprehensive solution for eDiscovery, information governance and risk management across disparate systems.

StoredIQ claims that its Intelligent Information Management appliance is designed to “manage the functional intersection of records management, eDiscovery and storage management” and says that as part of an overall information lifecycle management strategy, provides a holistic classification, business policy and action framework to execute litigation hold, storage optimisation and document retention and destruction policies.

“Information is a vital corporate asset, but when mismanaged, it can quickly become a liability and create risk,” said Brian Babineau, Senior Analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group. “This can happen because organisations must deal with the exponential growth of email and user files, while at the same time adhering to records retention regulations and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure – which stipulate mandates for handling electronically stored information in the legal discovery process.

“StoredIQ’s intelligent information management technology provides valuable automation for organizations to manage email and user files based upon content and business context.”

The appliance also supports EMC’s Centera and Celerra storage platforms in addition to Documentum.
