Fuji Xerox Improves Citrix Printing

Fuji Xerox mproves Citrix Printing

August 21, 2008: Fuji Xerox Printers has announced the introduction of a printer utility that it says can improve the usability, administration and printing in a Citrix XenApp environment.

The company says the utility reflects the client PC’s printer driver settings accurately onto the ACCP of a Citrix XenApp Server and improves printing speed, while compressing print data by up to 70 percent without reducing quality.

Fuji Xerox says that this enables its printers to operate in low bandwidth environments while reducing network traffic between Citrix XenApp servers and client PCs, again speeding up printing.

The company says that the new utility also makes it easier for users to track print jobs, with detailed logs available for auditing and security measures.

“In managing global workgroups, IT administrators rely on Citrix to deliver uniform applications that reside from a centralised environment. This sometimes reduces the availability of some printing features in order to improve the speed of making applications available to users,” said Tom Lewis, Marketing Manager of Fuji Xerox Printers Australia and New Zealand.

“With the Print Utility for Citrix XenApp, users can now take advantage of the feature-rich environment of Fuji Xerox Printers wherever they may be. The utility allows users access to a full range of device options which were previously restricted on client printer drivers on Citrix XenApp servers without compromising on the speed or access to XenApp applications.”
