DocsCorp adds docx support

September 2, 2008: DocsCorp has released its next generation document comparison software: compareDocs 3.1, adding support for the Microsoft Office 2007 "docx" XML-based format.

compareDocs 3.1 integrates into MS Office applications including MS Outlook, document management systems (Interwoven, NetDocuments, Open Text and WORLDOX) to accurately and reliably compare two versions of a document for differences

The new version also includes better handling of tables, headers and footers; faster comparison; and integration with SaaS provider Netdocuments.

David Woolstencroft, Senior VP Sales and Marketing said "The compareDocs approach to document comparison and workflow is unique. Its easy-to-use interface lets you compare anything to anything, integrating seamlessly into the applications office professionals use every day-MS Word, Outlook and Adobe Reader.

“No more proprietary viewing technology; no more cutting and pasting between applications; no more time wasted! Instead, its leading-edge technology identifies changes in documents and outputs the changes directly to Word or PDF so that users can continue to work on the document. The result is a seamless, integrated workflow that delivers unprecedented levels of accuracy and efficiency," he said.

"While there are a few document comparison solutions available that compare Word to Word, or PDF to PDF, there are no products on the market that allow you to 'compare apples with oranges' so to speak" says Woolstencroft.

"With compareDocs there are no restrictions-you can compare anything to anything (Word to Word, PDF to PDF, Word to PDF, Word to anything). Equally, there are none that integrate into MS Word to the extent that compareDocs does.”
