December 3, 2008: Architects, Engineering and Construction companies are the target of a SharePoint based engineering document management solution from Holland's Cadac Group.
It has developed the Organice Solution Accelerator to help companies to accelerate their SharePoint deployment and to enhance their document management solution.
Organice is their software suite for engineering document management and document control, and is fully based on Microsoft SharePoint.
The Organice Solution Accelerator provides a site provisioning tool that helps project managers to easily create new project sites, without the need to involve SharePoint experts. The included site templates are based on best practices and provide an efficient environment to manage project documents and collaborate with project partners. If needed, sites are automatically enabled for Organice Transmit to manage and control document distribution with transmittals.
Additional functionality includes Document Numbering and Rule Based Item Security. With Document Numbering, customers can automatically create document numbers according to their company standards. Rule Based Item Security helps to further define the security (authorization) on items, beyond the standard SharePoint security capabilities based on user roles.
