Online document management added to PBwiki

December 8, 2008: PBwiki now provides a document management solution that's accessible both inside and outside the firewall.

Combining document management with wiki collaboration is a major step forward, according to Atle Skjekkeland, Vice President of the Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM).

"Document management lets you find, control, and share files across your organization, and a wiki with document management capabilities will really improve the control of content accessible from users within and outside the firewall."

Features include:
-- Folders that allow users to organize and control access to documents and files;
-- Ability to automatically capture, store, and organize file revisions;
-- Cohesive new interface for managing both wiki pages and files;
-- Ability to search within documents as well as wiki pages;
-- Ability to easily upload multiple files at once.

PBWiki is free for up to three users that each get 2 GB of storage, while paying customers get unlimited storage.

"We're focused on boosting productivity by helping teams work together more efficiently and effectively. That's more important than ever in today's 'do more with less' economic environment," said PBwiki CEO Jim Groff. "Unlike traditional document management software, PBwiki's hosted solution enables team members to easily collaborate across geographic and organizational boundaries in a robust, secure environment -- without taxing already strained IT resources."
