ReadSoft adds handwritten recognition

December 8, 2008:ReadSoft has added the ability to recognise handwritten documents to its document classification and mailroom automation solution.

The solution has been developed with A2iA DocumentReader's Full Cursive Transcription technology.

"The alliance with A2iA means that we can offer our customers a total solution for the highly efficient handling of all incoming correspondence – even the handwritten white-mail," says Robin Renfrey, Director of Sales – Documents at ReadSoft.

"This is a perfect complement to ReadSoft DOCUMENTS, our successful platform for automatically handling business documents that we offer to customers, especially those in business sectors such as insurance, banking and finance."

A2iA technology enables ReadSoft to incorporate all cursive handwritten documents such as letters, complaints and other correspondence into the flow with other printed and electronic documents.

ReadSoft DOCUMENTS feeds the business documents and data to the right recipients in the business processes, saving considerable preparation time and effort.

"I am delighted that ReadSoft is the first worldwide supplier of A2iA DocumentReader's "Full Cursive Transcription" technology for document classification and mailroom automation. I think that this worldwide agreement will emphasize the strengths and synergy of both our companies in the document automation market," says Jean-LouisFages, Chairman of the Board and CEO of A2iA.
