March 24, 2009:The result of more than six years spent solving scanning and indexing challenges for Australian businesses, i2 is a new batch scanning application designed to make the scanning and profiling of documents quick and easy.
i2 is an Australian-developed solution that supports ISIS-compliant document scanners and provides the ability watch folders from multi-function devices.
i2 has been designed to provide a simple yet powerful way to scan in bulk documents.
To make the learning curve as simple as possible, i2 installs along with a sample job with images. On the installation CD there is also a video demonstration of the configuration process as well as on-line help. Installing the trial version of i2 provides all the tutorials as well as full use of the application for 14 days.
Scanning jobs in i2 are setup based on document settings and business rules, with the ability to create fields on multiple pages of a document, not just the first page
All ISIS compliant scanners are supported, with no pricing penalty and attractive discounts for multiple licenses.
You are provided with Watch folders to import PDF and TIF images (ideal for MFP / photocopier installations) and job separator sheets are included for automatically segmenting out documents (printed from within the application)
Additional features include:
• Use Zonal OCR to read fixed defined areas on a document. Key from image supported (the defined area will be zoomed in when processing a batch);
• Lasso OCR tool to drag over a machine print area to populate an index field;
• Pre index option to enter text that is common to all documents in a batch;
• Post index option to create field pull down list for indexing;
• Can use a common OCR zone on documents to detect and create a new batch - this feature is really useful;
• Barcode detection and optional use as a page separator (requires additional barcode module);
• Batch creation allows the user to scan and then post index documents at a later time;
• Import a CSV file as part of the indexing process for example part numbers, client codes etc;
• CSV text file export of index data and image path;
• Output file formats include TIF, PDF, PDF/A and text searchable PDF;
• Meta data is embedded automatically into the image to allow for content searching.
A single user license of the i2 Base Product is $A2495 and optional extras include the Barcode Module ($A1495) and Text Searchable PDF Module ($A1495). Second and successive licenses based on new business to the same client (after initial single user order) are as follows: i2 Base Product ($A1495);Barcode Module ($A895); Text Searchable PDF Module ($A 895).There is also 20% annual maintenance which is mandatory for the first 12 months (optional thereafter) and covers point updates, phone and email support. Prices quoted are ex GST.
