Iron Mountain Acquires Stratify

By Greg McNevin

November 6, 2007: Storage and information protection specialist Iron Mountain has announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire electronic discovery provider Stratigy for US$158 million (AU$171).

Stratify handles eDiscovery services for the legal market, offering in-depth discovery and data investigation solutions. With the acquisition, Iron Mountain claims it will be able to augment its suite of eDiscovery services to create a complete end-to-end solution to manage paper and digital information and take care of compliance, records management and litigation matters.

The company says it will be able to provide its customers with the ability to meet their discovery requirements better, faster and more cost-effectively, while minimising risk and simplifying the eDiscovery process to facilitate a secure chain of custody.

With Stratify, Iron Mountain claims it can collect, protect and store an organisation's information, consolidate matter-specific information from external parties, and help attorneys identify and protect privileged documents during review.

The all-cash deal is subject to regulatory review, and is expected to close by the end of the year.
