Epiq expands eDiscovery service

March 31, 2009:Epiq Systems has opened a new international eDiscovery office in Hong Kong that has a local data centre, and expanded its service offerings to include data collections, forensics and document review.

Epiq's new Forensics Acquisition Services Team provides data preservation and collection services, with particular expertise in the requirements of foreign jurisdictions and in handling esoteric file systems and formats.

In addition, the team provides early data assessment, data reduction, and sampling strategies to minimize unnecessary processing, and accelerate the identification of relevant information.

Epiq Document Review Solutions, the company's new contract document review service, leverages its DocuMatrix review platform to provide on-demand review of large data collections by qualified attorneys.

The company claims that specially trained lawyers working for Epiq can review data at several times the rate of a traditional linear review, dramatically reducing document review costs,typically the most expensive component of discovery.
