Hyland Software has announced today the latest release of its enterprise content management (ECM) solution, OnBase 13. This is an annual release which the company says this year ncludes more than 2500 enhancements.

 “Providing instant access to your critical data and documents from anywhere should be a key feature of your organisation’s content management strategy, and the enhancements in OnBase 13 make it easier than ever before,” said Glenn Gibson, Hyland’s product marketing manager.

Hyland expands its support for mobile devices, including iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows Phone 8 platforms, allowing organisations to extend business processes outside their brick-and-mortar walls to their mobile workers.

The latest release also brings offline access to ECM. Using Windows laptops and tablets, field and case workers can take all the information they need with them, allowing them to work while completely disconnected from the network, with all changes automatically synchronised once reconnected.

OnBase 13’s entire spectrum of ECM capabilities and functionality is available in Hyland’s cloud and on-premises deployments. The OnBase Cloud is purpose-built for ECM and is managed and maintained by OnBase and cloud experts, giving organizations full functionality without capital expenditure from subscription-based licensing models.
 
Hyland says that new collaborative capabilities within the OnBase product suite provide functionality far beyond “transactional” content management. 

"With OnBase Case Manager, organizations can manage every piece of data tied to a specific process more efficiently. Having greater control around the tasks, activities, reminders and big data surrounding a process, provides a 360-degree insight into each transaction and helps you better manage every aspect of that process, better."

Scalability of the platform has been enhanced to allow OnBase to contain up to 1 quadrillion documents in a single system by utilising a 64-bit database. This also allows for integration with the latest 64-bit applications.
