Ademero Upgrades Content Central

August 6, 2007: Document management software specialist Ademero has just released the latest version of its Content Central, adding improved management, scan-to-web features and more.

Content Central 3.5 offers an in-browser scanning component called DirectScan that enables common document scanners to be controlled from and capture to any available web browser running the document management software. Ademero claims this increases productivity and new flexibility to high-volume scanning environments such as engineering, mortgage and legal.

“We saw that there was an adequate market for companies interested in scanning paper easily from remote locations, so we decided to give our customers the ability to securely capture that paper using the World-Wide-Web," says Anthony Nelson, lead architect for Content Central.

Content Central enables users to capture paper documents or upload electronic files from any web browser, retrieving and managing information as required. The software converts all paper scans into searchable PDFs complete with metadata and OCR for full-text searching.

Next to its new web features, Ademero has announced that the software can now also be purchased as a standalone appliance with both server hardware and software bundled as a single piece of kit. Currently the company has three systems available with small business and corporate enterprise in mind.
