Technical content authoring tool extends 'Predictive Text' features

SDL has released a new version of its Global Authoring Management System for authoring  technical content that is optimised for search and localisation, and is more consistent and easy for customers to understand.

New features and enhancements in this release include AutoSuggest released for PTC Arbortext Editor and JustSystems' XMetaL. This 'predictive text' technology, AutoSuggest, ensures that organisations can prevent inconsistent technical information being published to customers by allowing writers to quickly reuse sentences that have been written before. This release extends AutoSuggest to the structured authoring community by supporting PTC Arbortext Editor and JustSystems' XMetaL.

This release also updates the integrations with SDL's language technology portfolio, now offering support for SDL WorldServer 2011, SDL MultiTerm 2011 and SDL Trados Studio 2011. These aim to ensure that their global terminology is consistent and that content is reused and created with translation in mind.

As well as integration with PTC Arbortext Editor for version 6.0, this new release also expands the linguistic capabilities of SDL Global Authoring Management System for organisations that write or translate content in German. Organisations can analyse German content for common linguistic errors that affect the clarity, quality and findability of documents.

"This latest release caters to our global customers that are recognising the need to design their content strategy around both structure and language optimisation, as they move through the stages of product content maturity" said Kevin Duffy, CEO of SDL Structured Content Technologies.

"These enhanced capabilities continue to establish SDL's thought leadership and technology innovation in the areas of content development and customer experience."
