File Upload Field Type for SharePoint 2013

SharePoint add-on developer KWizCom has released a File Upload Field Type for SharePoint 2013 designed to eliminate file-attachment chaos by controlling the type, size and the number of attachments users can upload.

It says the solution will allow users full control over the files that can or should be attached to SharePoint list items, thus making records integrity and consistency much easier to implement.

"SharePoint customers are investing a huge sum of money trying to structure their data using metadata, taxonomies, record management etc., but they all fail in the most basic and commonly used thing: List File Attachments,” elaborates Nimrod Geva, Product Group Manager of KWizCom Corporation.

“The File Upload field type enables companies to implement records integrity and consistency, by enforcing allowed file types, file sizes and defining mandatory attachments - all which are impossible to configure with out-of-the-box SharePoint."

Features include:

  1. the ability to configure a file attachment as required;
  2. control over the uploaded file type;
  3. control over the uploaded file size;
  4. a field restricts the number of attachments to 1,
  5. cross-browser and multi-lingual.
