PDF Day comes downunder

The PDF Association is coming to Sydney on November 25 for a one-day focused event that will bring ISO committee members and ICT leaders together to discuss the significance of ISO standards for PDF as well as the technology and solutions available to business users of PDF documents.

A global/international perspective is expected for the seminar which will address questions such as:

  • why PDF? Why not XYZ other technology?
  • which PDF standard(s) should I adopt for my business and why? Pros and cons.
  • what future changes in PDF standards are coming and how should I prepare my business?
  • how have other countries and industries leveraged PDF standards for e-government, workflow, etc.?

Session proposals are being accepted by the PDF Day Program Committee up until August 26.

  • The Program Committee consists of:
  • Duff Johnson, PDF Association Executive Director and ISO 32000 Project Co-Leader
  • Peter Wyatt, CiSRA Engineering Manager and ISO 32000 Project Co-Leader
  • Matt Kuznicki, Datalogics CTO and PDF Association Chairman

Over two tracks, the event’s sessions will cover:

  • ISO standards for PDF, including ISO 32000, PDF/A, PDF/UA,  PDF/E and PDF/X
  • Government regulations and other environmental factors for electronic document technology
  • Application of ISO-standardized PDF technology to address archival and accessibility needs

Track 1 will focus on PDF as a file-format with focus on archival considerations.

Track 2 will focus on PDF accessibility and interactive features.

Each session is 30 minutes followed by 10 minutes for questions. Specific sessions and track assignments will be published soon.
