South African Oil Refinery selects Brava!

Informative Graphics has announced that SAPREF, a South African crude oil refinery, has purchased its Brava! Enterprise for SharePoint software to view and collaborate on AutoCAD DWG drawings, TIFF images and Microsoft Office documents.

Based in Durban, South Africa, SAPREF has approximately 80,000 to 90,000 drawings detailing equipment and mechanical and electrical processes and a host of related project documents. Because Brava never alters the original file, it will allow users to quickly view and collaborate on files without requiring that they be checked out.

This allows annotations and conversations to happen without creating duplicate renditions or versions in SharePoint and reserves the check in/check out action for modifications and edits only. It also allows users to view the files and create and review comments, regardless of physical location, using only a web browser.

Brava's security was a deciding factor in its ultimate selection, particularly its redaction capabilities. Electronic redaction is far more efficient than the traditional approach of obscuring sensitive content in documents manually using black markers or redaction tape.

Dave Garrod, Information Coordinator for SAPREF, first learned of Brava when he was visiting the offices of a partner in Canada that uses Brava. Garrod remarks, "I could see immediately that Brava would be useful for our company. We considered several solutions, but the security and usability of Brava stood out."
