Speaker line-up announced for Australia SharePoint Conference 2012

The speaker program has been launched for the 3rd Annual Australian SharePoint Conference, being held in Melbourne for the first time in 2012, on Tuesday March 20 and Wednesday March 21, at Hilton on the Park. View the program online HERE!

This year’s event see the introduction of a fifth conference stream that will focus specifically on Office, Productivity and Business Intelligence (BI).

Conference organiser Debbie Ireland said the new stream would dive deep into the integration between SharePoint and the Office Suite as well as a wide range of data visualisation and business intelligence sessions.

Office is designed to work with MOSS. Rather, MOSS is designed to work with Office! In spite of that, all these integration points are not fully exploited in typical MOSS projects. Dr Nitin Paranjapen will examine Office to MOSS integration areas and provide practical approaches to deploying and adopting these as standard user practice. A qualified gynaecologist, Dr Nitin Paranjapen has written over 750 articles on the Microsoft platform over 21 years in IT.

The speaker line-up for the 2012 event includes SharePoint Designer Penny Coventry, SharePoint MVPs Brett Lonsdale and Alex Pearce from the UK, Michal Pisarek from Canada, Author Asif Rehmani, Bill English, Christian Buckley and InfoPath Specialist Clayton Cobb, Dan Holme from the US, as well as local MVPs and SharePoint experts from Australia and New Zealand.

In addition to technical content for IT Pros and developers, there will be additional Business and Case Study tracks, adding up to over 50 sessions designed for a wide audience interested in SharePoint solutions

Ireland said there will be over 20 different customer stories presented during the two day event, in short and sharp 25-minute presentations that showcase how others are making the most of their SharePoint deployments. The speaker line-up includes Santos (Australian Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Company), Komatsu Australia, Equestrian Australia, Civil Contractors Federation, Marist College and Synapse.

SharePoint is viewed as a tool for collaboration, but what does that really mean? In his session Michal Pizarek will explore the different types of collaboration SharePoint offers and help you better understand what each means and how to apply it to your organization. Michael is a Microsoft SharePoint MVP and frequent contributor to the SharePoint Analyst HQ blog.

Topics that will be covered in the Case Study sessions include digital mailrooms, SharePoint in Education, Line of Business (LOB) systems in the Cloud, Extranets and Employee Provisioning solutions.

A new option for the 2012 event is for attendees to sign up for a half day FOCUS session aimed at business people, executives and decision makers. It forms part of the overall agenda, but allows people to just register for the half day –attend a choice of three tracks and fourteen sessions, the morning keynote and lunch. The sessions are concise and topical. The reduced cost for the business half day is $300.00.

For the full TWO day event Early Bird Registrations are still available for a limited time - $725.00 (ex GST)
