Hitachi Strengthens Its Presence in the Mainframe Storage Market

Hitachi and its subsidiary, Hitachi Data Systems have declared the completion of compatibility and interoperability testing between Hitachi storage and IBM zSeries mainframe systems.

Hitachi maintains that supporting IBM mainframe systems is a strategic part of the company’s storage business. According to the electronics giant, users in sectors like financial services and telecommunications rely on mainframe systems for critical applications. Hitachi claims that users would confidently consider its presence during data purchasing decisions.

“We are seeing resurgence in high-end mainframe storage deployments,” says Mark Kay, MD – Hitachi Data Systems, Australia and New Zealand. Hitachi carried out the compatibility and interoperability testing in their globally-marketed products like Hitachi TagmaStore Universal Storage Platform, Hitachi TagmaStore Network Storage Controller, Hitachi SANRISE Universal Storage Platform and Hitachi SANRISE Network Storage Controller.

According to Hitachi, its commitment to the data storage market to meet global demand is a number one priority now.
