Ontrack Rescues Rotten Apples

April 12th, 2006: Ontrack Data Recovery has announced a new set of tools to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of data recovery on all Apple hardware.

The popularity of Macs is growing again, and it looks to continue now that Windows XP can be run on Intel equipped Apples. However, if something goes wrong and an internal or external disk becomes corrupted there are scant tools available to recover data from Apple’s proprietary HFS+ file system.

Ontrack took note of this and has released some Mac-specific tools that it says allow its engineers to recover more data, offer improved reports, handle larger volume sizes, support more languages and provide faster return of data.

“As Macs continue to grow in popularity, it is crucial that Mac users have all of the same resources available as PC users – including high-quality data recovery solutions,” says Jim Reinert, senior director of Software and Services for Ontrack Data Recovery. “Currently, the majority of our Mac recoveries are successful, so with these improvements, Mac users can have even more confidence in trusting Ontrack with their valuable data.”

The new tools are available now and support the entire line of Apple products including the iPod.
