NetApp Leads NAS Market
April 20th, 2006: According to a new survey by Gartner, Network Appliance is surging ahead of the pack in the NAS and unified storage market.
Gartner's report “Market Share: NAS/Unified Storage, Worldwide, 2000-2005,” says that the total Network Attached Storage (NAS) and unified storage market grew 16.1 percent in 2004.
In that time, Gartner says NetApp grew more quickly than the market, posting an annual revenue growth of 22.4% and increasing its market share from 52.4 percent in 2004 to 55.2 percent in 2005.
Gartner also found that NetApp leads the industry in both the high-end and midrange parts of the market, with 88.9 percent market share and 70.5 percent market share by revenue respectively.
