Aussie storage player targets telco apps with new release

Australian data storage provider SLI-Consulting is looking to meet the storage demands of the burgeoning telecommunications applications market with its new certified storage arrays.

The StorageNetwork SN-1600-FFX2 (Goshawk) was designed to answer the demands of emerging of multimedia messaging services and outsourced data storage services.

Network Equipment Building Service (NEBS) compliance means these scalable storage solutions will operate reliably under the most hostile environments and provide the optimum combination of features and benefits to meet the immense demands of telecom services.

NEBS compliance is essentially a means of identifying that a product has met certain criteria in terms of reliability, compatibility, and ease of installation.

According to José Goldmann, Principal, SLI-Consulting, "Many telecommunications service providers are reaping phenomenal revenue opportunities from the new message and storage services that are available today. However, these technologies also pose serious technical challenges. Equipment throughout the network must provide unwavering reliability, especially the data storage systems that are critical to the 24/7 performance of the many 'store and forward' services mobile users now depend on.

"The SN-1600-FFX2, delivers the highest availability (99.999+ percent) and configuration flexibility to ensure downtime is virtually eliminated."

Goldmann added: "Critical components are redundant and hot-swappable to ensure fieldserviceability without downtime. And Goshawk’s subsystems are easily connected to deliver optimum ROI as providers scale to meet growing data storage demands."
