StorageTek celebrates 25 years in Australia

Storage services and solutions provider StorageTek is in a celebratory mood, having reached the milestone of 25 years in business in Australia.

Philip Belcher, managing director of StorageTek Australian and New Zealand, says the company has much to raise a glass about.

"This year has been a landmark year for StorageTek, capping off a very successful quarter century in Australia. We are particularly proud of the contributions StorageTek has made over the years to the development of the Australian IT industry."

Earlier this year, those very contributions were recognised by the Australian government, with the Minister for Communications, IT and the Arts, Senator Richard Alston presenting the company with a Certificate of Recognition for its industry development initiatives, which include an Australian Software Research and Development Centre in Canberra and its Asia South Pacific Support Centre in Sydney.

Senator Alston commended StorageTek for its long-term commitment to Australian IT industry development, with recognised activities valued at around $10 million a year, including research and development, investment programs and exports.
