DiData shakes hands with EMC

Services company Dimension Data has formalised its relationship with EMC into a global partnership, adding to the trend of service companies waking up to the lucrative nature of storage implementations.

While DiData had already been using some EMC products in its project work, which has traditionally been focused on networking and application services, the new partnership would "unify" the relationship, according to the companies.

Martin Aungle, DiData's online marketing manager, said the company had already been installing EMC's hardware for its customers for at least two years. He named existing joint customers as including Baker's Delight, InTact, ACTEW AGL, and the Australian Centre for Moving Images.

The partnership had been driven out of the London offices of the two companies, according to Mr Aungle, but would extend to all regional affiliates, including those in Australia. Dimension Data, formerly controlled out of South Africa under the name of Com Tech, is now listed on the London Stock Exchange and is based there.
