Adding storage to the network
Adding storage to the network
A new family of network storage devices is designed to meet a growing demand for easily configured solutions.
Small work groups on local area networks, departments on network segments, or peer to peer networks all have a common need: how to add storage without bringing down the network and without needing to employ a systems administrator to keep it running.
The NetReady family brings together Allstor Software, the software development division of Plasmon Data, Osprey storage operating system and Enterprise Library Manager to create a complete range of storage servers.
Completely modular, these solutions span CD towers, CD-ROM libraries, DVD-RAM libraries and MO jukeboxes providing up to 5.2 TBs of automated storage with large data/media cache and duplicator configurations to complete the range.
The first product in the family, NetReady for Workgroups, has been designed specifically for this scenario. The solution is easy to install, as it is simply a matter of plugging into the network, and connecting the storage device. The product will then self-install, and self-configure, and is accessible from all clients in the workgroup.
The second product in the family is NetReady for Business, which, according to Australian distributor AustStor is designed for corporate users who need to provide cost effective and stable environments for their mission critical applications.
NetReady Cluster Manager, the third solution in the group, provides 100GB of hard disk cache and 128MB of RAM cache, and has the ability to manage multi-terabyte configurations of MO, CD-R or DVD clusters.
