Falconstor Brings SeaChange to SMEs

December 6, 2007: Data protection specialist Falconstor has partnered up with storage system provider SeaChange International to release a new high-density, high-performance storage solution aimed specifically at SMEs.

Powered by FalconStor’s IPStor virtualisation platform and SeaChange’s Drawer of Drives storage platform, the to claim the new device offers unprecedented performance and scalability for its size, and supports up to 504 terabytes of storage in a single rack footprint.

SeaChange’s Drawer of Drives technology enables any combination of SAS and SATA II hard drives to be used in a single tray, and due to the inclusion of FalconStor’s Continuous Data Protection (CDP) technology, the two claim that rapid and granular data recovery is available across all heterogeneous storage devices, as well as FalconStor’s VirtualTape Library (VTL).

“The combination of FalconStor CDP and VTL software products with SeaChange’s Drawer of Drives storage platform creates a highly available storage solution designed for enterprise applications involving massive quantities of data,” says Bernie Wu, Vice President for Business Development at FalconStor.
