Allstor gets NetReady for NAS

Allstor Software has unveiled its family of plug and play storage management devices for the corporate network, a combination of server technology and fourth-generation data storage management software.

The NetReady family of Network Attached Storage (NAS) is designed to simplify storage access. It permits networks to add storage without bringing down the system or requiring an administrator to keep it operating. Users can attach the storage device to the network and switch it on to begin its installation.

Also part of the offering is NetReady Cluster Manager, a NAS device with 100GB disk cache space and 128GB RAM. The Manager handles multi-terabyte configurations of magneto-optical, CD-R or DVD clusters.

The product also allows mix and match support of formats and files, and permits existing media to co-exist with new technology without the need for migration.

The scalable NetReady solution also allows cross-platform interaction, so that Unix, NetWare or NT users have access to the same data storage system.

The NetReady system and its range of products are available from AustStor. For information, contact 02 9417 2244.
