Replicate Stops Datacentre Faults Before they Happen

November 12, 2008: Striving for better fault management in virtual datacentres, Replicate Technologies has introduced its new Replicate Datacenter Analyser (RDA) 1.0, the first solution to predict and prevent faults in unified data centre infrastructure according to the company.

Replicate says that RDA 1.0 takes advantage of server virtualisation to provide a breakthrough approach to fault management, ending the conventional break-fix cycle by using both preventive and remediation analysis.

It says this helps avoid and solve configuration errors in virtualised datacenters, while providing the only unified view of dynamic datacentres to predicting and prevent faults before they cause downtime.

The company says that well-managed configuration is the key to the smooth running of a datacentre, however, virtualisation not only introduces a new layer to configure, but also places new and unique demands on the cross-functional configuration of servers, networks and storage.

“While delivering many benefits, server virtualization has also created a new set of issues for enterprise IT to address,” said Rich Miller, CEO of Replicate Technologies. “Our goal with RDA is to use virtualisation technologies to address those unintended consequences – to change the way one operates, administers and manages the modern datacentre.”

“Using predictive fault identification, diagnosis and remediation guidance, RDA eliminates datacentre faults before they generate outages.”
