Acronis launches Backup & Recovery 11
Acronis is promising to answer dual disaster recovery and data protection needs across physical, virtual and cloud environments with its newly launched Backup & Recovery 11 product.
It provides the two elements of file-based backup and system-level recovery in a single solution for backup and recovery of images, files and Virtual Machines (VM). Support for applications such as Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server will become available later.
“Running separate solutions can drive up costs, and integration between technologies, even from the same vendor, is difficult. Add migrations to the backing up of data across physical, virtual and cloud environments and it’s clear that IT managers today are relying on overly complex legacy technologies,” said Karl Sice, General Manager – Pacific, at Acronis.
Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 adds new Catalogue & Search capabilities for data, and the ability to deliver multi-destination backups to tape, disk and cloud.
There is a flat pricing structure for the cloud rather than pricing per gigabyte, and storage offered online is a maximum of 500GB for workstations, 1.5TB for servers and 4TB for Virtual Machines.
Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 costs $A1 649 ex GST per Advanced Server and will be available later in Q2, with support for Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft SQL Server becoming available at a later date.
