If so, this is a reminder that nominations for the new Bernadette Bean South Australian (SA) Records Management Service Excellence Award (https://bbrmaward.com) close on 31 July 2019, with the winner to be announced in September 2019.

This annual SA award recognises and celebrates demonstrated records management service excellence by eligible SA award nominees. This includes nominees who have a focus on best practice and improvement in:

• records management, archive or history collection practices
• digital records management research, technology or transformation
• leadership, mentoring, innovation or dedication and contribution to the industry.

The award is established in honour of the late Bernadette Bean’s outstanding leadership and other significant contributions to the records management industry for over 30 years.

The Records and Information Management Professionals Australasia  has recently announced their endorsement and support for this award. The award winner will automatically become the RIMPA SA Branch nominee for the J Eddis Linton Award - Outstanding Individual, Group or Student category in the RIMPA National Awards Program. The winner of this national RIMPA award will be announced at the annual RIMPA Live Convention Gala Awards Dinner in Melbourne on 9 October 2019.

2019 award prize package

The award governance committee has determined the 2019 award prize value to be $1,000. 

RIMPA has also contributed an additional:

• 12 months RIMPA individual membership (either current year for a new member, or next renewal period if already a member)
• $150 RIMPA dollars towards the cost of a SA RIMPA event within the next 12 months, and
• an invitation to attend the 2019 RIMPA Live Convention Gala Awards Dinner as a guest of RIMPA.
