Nuix continues winning run for IT exports

A win at the European Union EU Directorate General (DG) has topped off another strong year of international success for Australian ediscovery and data investigation developer Nuix.

The EU Directorate General  selected Nuix technology for its inspections at corporate premises. DG Competition chose Nuix for its ability to provide in-depth investigations across huge unstructured data sets in very short time frames using a small hardware footprint.

DG Competition investigates companies that may have breached competition rules through cartels or other anticompetitive practices. It also examines proposed corporate mergers that may significantly reduce competition. These investigations can involve analyzing corporate data onsite during surprise or announced inspections and at DG Competition’s headquarters in Brussels.

Eddie Sheehy, CEO of Nuix. “Many organizations are using Nuix to proactively investigate their operations to ensure they comply with regulations – preferably before the regulators arrive at the door.”

DG Competition joins a growing list of regulators worldwide that rely on Nuix for investigating and cross-referencing multiple-terabyte cases of digital evidence, including the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, Japan’s Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission, the United Kingdom Financial Services Authority and the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.

Nuix’s success in the world market has been acknowledged with a win for the company in the Information and Communication Technology category at the 2012 Australian Export Awards.

Sheehy said "Nuix has targeted a growing need for organisations worldwide to understand, investigate and manage the large and growing volumes of unstructured data.

"Approximately 80% of the data organisations store is unstructured – email, social media, instant messages and other communications, documents, images, audio and video. Without the ability to index and search this data, organisations cannot say for sure how much information they have, where it is or what secrets, risks and value it contains."

Nuix is targeting increased market share in Asia for its next major international expansion, offering the ability to process major Asian file formats and handle all Asian character set encodings for processing, as well as the ability to localise the user interface for Asian languages.
