June 19, 2007: PIPE Networks is gearing up to launch 350 sqm of data centre space into the Brisbane market with a facility completed in just 60 day and its daily progress blogged by operational staff.

In what appears to be a world first, operations staff at PIPE Networks have been blogging the daily progress of the data centre’s development. The challenge was to complete the facility in 60 days and while tomorrow’s opening will mark the 66th day since the challenge was set, it speed of construction has still been steady as data centre fit-outs commonly take close to six months.

Supporting local Queensland businesses, tomorrow’s opening will mark Pipe Netork’s third data centre in Brisbane and 6th Metropolitan centre across Australia. Pipe Networks says the the Honourable John Mickel, MP, Minister for State Development in the Queensland Government will be on hand to recognise their support for the local ICT economy.

Bevan Slattery, PIPE Networks managing director says Queensland growth is steady and steady with the need for services driving a huge increase in ICT capacity. “Our latest Data Centre will make available more than 350 sqm of much need commercial data centre space,” he says. PIPE Networks says its carrier neutral facility will provide the much needed infrastructure for secure and reliable data storage in the region.
