HDS Opens Major Support Centre

May 9, 2007: Hitachi Data Systems has announced the opening of its Asia Pacific Deal Operations Centre, a Malaysian based centre offering storage solutions for 12 countries including Australia and New Zealand.

The centre based in Kuala Lumpur has been designed to support Hitachi’s arsenal of storage solutions, providing regional sales teams and channel partners in the region access to solution configuration, inventory allocation, pricing strategies, audit and compliance information.

According to Hitachi, centralising these resources will free up sales teams focus on their core responsibilities of selling and responding to customer needs. The Deal Operations Centre has also opened up jobs for 40 Malaysians to work in the centre.

Hugh Ujhazy will oversee the centre’s operations as a director, Deal Operations Centre for HDS and believes Malaysia is a well suit location for serving the needs of Asia Pacific.

“Malaysia offers political stability, good infrastructure and a resilient business environment,”’ says Ujhazy. “”We also hope to be able to share our technological knowledge and best practice with the rest of Malaysia, and contribute to Malaysia’s fast developing infocomm industry.”

The Deal Operations Centre is housed in a 12,500 square foot office at Chulan Towers in Kuala Lumpur’s city centre.
